Good rifle shooting comes down to a steady position, a clean trigger press and a rifle that is zeroed. Master these basics and every rifle you own will shoot better.

The fundamentals
- Position: Build a stable base and let bone, not muscle, hold the rifle.
- Sight picture: Center the reticle and keep both eyes relaxed.
- Breathing: Fire in the natural pause at the bottom of your breath.
- Trigger: Press straight back so the shot surprises you.
- Follow-through: Keep your eye on the target after the shot.

Zero your rifle
Zeroing makes your bullets land where the crosshairs sit. Do it from a solid rest with the ammo you plan to use.
